Galactic (pictured above), New Orleans' house band and one of the finest global funk combos anywhere, visits Richmond this week on their never-ending tour -- they're playing at the Dominion Riverrock Festival on Saturday night.

I'll play a couple of tracks from their recent album Carnivale Electricos to whet your appetite, and another couple by Gypsyphonic Disko, a side project of Galactic's Ben Ellman that mashes up Balkan brass bands with New Orleans bounce (must be heard to be believed).  Plus a set of what's new in the world of world music, and as always much, much more.
