After two special fund drive programs and a week out of town, I have a lot of great new music to get you caught up on.
The second album by Chicha Libre (pictured above) comes out May 8 and it's going to be one the year's best for sure -- I'll play a track from it today.  Also on the new music tip: Amadou & Mariam's new single; the second reissue of Nigeria's Lijadu Sisters; a terrific new record by ageless South African trumpeter Hugh Masekela; The Funk Ark from right up the road in Washington DC;  and much, much more.
